DATE: 17th – 19th FEBRUARY

Its Confirmed. The 2012 Kayak (and Canoe) Intervarsities will be held in Castlebar, Co.Mayo. Hosted by GMIT @ Castlebar.

The varsities are a hotly contested battle over 3 days with competitions in four disciplines of kayaking………. Polo, Whitewater, Freestyle and the long distance.

This competition is a well known event among young kayakers in Ireland, not only for the paddling, but the epic parties that follow. It is one of the biggest kayaking  compititions in ireland and has played a very important role in the development of kayaking while offering participants the chance to experience the fun, excitement and adventure that compitetion kayaking has to offer.

Last year (2011) University Collage Of Limerick took 1st prize and the overall trophy for the second year in a row.

Friday – Polo Comp (Castlebar Lake)
Sat AM – Whitewater (Location to be confirmed)
Sat PM – Freestyle (Plan A is Tuam….. Plan B is Cliften)
Sunday – Long Distance (Moorehall – 20mins from castlebar)
