River Liffey Clean Up Day

Its that time of year again. We use our rivers all year, most weekends for many different activities, this is your chance to take part in a fantastic river clean up event organised through the Ocean Initiatives project by Ariane Foster

This event is taken place at the Straw Hall, River Liffey on the 25th Of March 2012 at 11:00am.

Organizing a clean-up operation can help show your friends and family the impact human activity has on the environment.

It is a daily fight that Surfrider Foundation Europe undertake to make sure that marine litter is recognized for what it is : a source of pollution per se and an environmental priority.

Volunteers organize local Clean-Up operations, with the help of Surfrider Foundation Europe who manage the co-ordination of operations, offer logistical support, and broadcast news of the events on a European, national and local level .

The events are listed on Ocean Initiative website, you can simply consult the list of Clean-Ups to find operations. All you need to do is register and turn up at the indicated time and place.

Ocean Initiatives are traditionally held on the first Spring weekend. During four days from Thursday 22 to Sunday, March 25, 2012, hundreds of Ocean Initiative events will be conducted at the same time involving sports clubs, schools and general public…

Hi there everybody,

It’s the annual “ocean, lake and river clean up day” again!

This is an international event and in recent years we did a great job of cleaning up our favourite playground, the River Liffey.

We are meeting on Sunday 25th. March at 11 am at The Strawberry Hall car park, Click here to find location
